Definition

Electrical device used in sadomasochism to discharge static electricity onto a submissive's body. The wand uses a high-frequency circuit similar to a Tesla coil to build up a static charge in a gas-filled glass tube which jumps the gap to the skin of the bottom. It discharges thousands of volts but milliamperes which makes it relatively safe to use anywhere on the body except the eyes. The rate of sparks and the intensity of the discharge vary with the size of the end attachment: the larger the surface area of the attachment, the weaker the charge.
